How can we better understand AI

“Despite a public concern and a common misconception, AI isn’t here to enslave us”, Nikolai Karelin (Head of AI) starts his presentation marking the launch of the series of Silk Data meetups. “Our employees are doing a lot of incredible things, and we need to spread the knowledge among other teams and coworkers” – Yuri Svirid (CEO) highlights the importance of such meetups as the media to share insights, on the one hand, and to receive the invaluable feedback, on the other hand.

You can’t beat AI and machine learning in the level of excitement around the topic, let alone the significance of this area for Silk Data. In the first ever “SilkUP!”, Nikolai introduced the latest breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, topped with his team’s own progress in machine learning, NLP (text understanding, semantic analysis), and data science. “How to represent the entire Wikipedia in 100-dimensional space?” and “How can semantic clouds help legal workers reduce errors and significantly increase work speed?” – among the questions being answered during a 1-hour session.

In less than two weeks Nikolai will be speaking on stage of the Forum.Digital AI in Moscow – so that was a great opportunity to test-drive the presentation.
